REEBOK ENCOURAGES YOU TO GIVE YOURSELF #PERMISSIONTOPAUSE
BOSTON, Mass. – April 6, 2020 – The world and everything around us is uncertain, overwhelming—even scary. It is more important now than ever before to remind ourselves to pause, step away from our screens and focus on our collective mental and physical fitness. Reebok’s latest #PermissionToPause campaign is a reminder to do just that.
Featuring Reebok employees and a few brand partners including Shaquille O’Neal, Conor McGregor, J.J. Watt, and Dee Brown via home footage, the #PermissionToPause video which debuted via social media hopes to spread positivity and remind people to pause and take some time to take care of themselves, whether it be a run, some yoga, meditation or quality time with family.
The video offers hope, connection and inspiration as we move through this new normal and adjust to all the ways in which our lives are changing.
“Life as we know it has changed. But while we can’t control our life, we can give ourselves #PermissionToPause. So run. Get creative. Learn new moves. Disconnect. Reconnect with the things that matter most. Remember, we’re all in this together. Give yourself #PermissionToPause.”
The full #PermissionToPause video can be viewed here.
Additionally, Reebok is pressing pause on parts of its daily operations to support the global community during this difficult time. This includes:
- Support to Global Relief Efforts - The company has provided a cash donation of 3m EUR to WHO (World Health Organization)’s COVID-19 Solidarity Relief Fund in Europe plus 1.25m EUR to the China Youth Development Fund. (The WHO is leading and coordinating the global effort of supporting countries to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic).
- Supporting Those on the Front Lines with PPE Production and Distribution - at a local level Reebok has created a dedicated team solely focused on creating masks, gowns and other personal protective equipment.
- Free Fitness for You and Your Family – endorphins are critical for both one’s physical and mental health, particularly in stressful times. That’s why Reebok is offering free at home fitness and access to its trainers through our online Fitness Hub at Reebok.com.
- Showing our Appreciation for Our Heroes – Reebok has increased its longstanding company discount to first responders and educators to 50% off. All nurses, military members, educators and first responders can shop 50% off at Reebok.com with no exceptions during this time.
