First Seen on the Runways of Paris Fashion Week, Chromat is the Latest Label to Put its Spin on Reebok’s Provocative New Silhouette
Coming out of New York Fashion Week’s SS20 presentations, designer label Chromat has once again teamed up with fitness and lifestyle brand Reebok, debuting the label’s twist on a new “energy return” sole from Reebok.
The inclusive label led by founder Becca McCharen-Tran is the latest brand to put its stamp on Reebok’s striking new silhouette that first debuted on the runways of Paris Fashion Week in Cottweiler and Angus Chiang’s SS20 presentations. The Reebok x Chromat “energy return” silhouette features a gradient, unexpectedly shaped bottom created by Reebok combined with a vibrant custom upper designed by Chromat, conveying dynamic waves of energy.
Taking inspiration from deep sea and space exploration throughout its SS20 collection, Chromat took the bold colors and technical aspects from these worlds and created an upper that’s both functional and visually striking. The unification and creative energy behind the Reebok x Chromat collaboration subverts the traditional spectrum of style that pits fashion and human performance at opposite ends – this silhouette shows what bold creative energy and inspiration can achieve.
With joint Reebok vector and Chromat logos on the tongue and heel, three colorways of the silhouette were seen on the runway, including white/acid blue/radiant red, solar yellow/acid blue and vector navy/solar yellow/acid blue.
