Reebok x STORY mfg. Team Up for Outdoor-Inspired Collaboration
BOSTON (MA) – January 28, 2021 – Today Reebok and apparel brand STORY mfg. announce they have collaborated to reimagine the Club C and Beatnik through an outdoor lens. This marks the first sneaker collaboration STORY mfg. has pursued since the brand’s inception in 2013.
“This project was focused on our love of walking, nature and the outdoors. We came up with the brand on a walk together and whenever we need to think creatively, we go on a walk and hash things out,” said Saeed Al-Rubeyi, co-founder of STORY mfg. “Walking is our meditation and as we pound the pavement, we pick our brains for inspiration – we forage for wisdom. These versions of the Club C and Beatnik are slubby-gummy-peacey and friendly, without being foolish – like us.”
The collection was created with the casual, yet mindful STORY mfg. design language in mind. The Club C and Beatnik paired perfectly with STORY’s aesthetic due to the Club C’s clean, classic silhouette and the Beatnik’s signature minimal construction. This inspiration was carried into both shoes through the upper, which is constructed from an undyed, woven linen blend, and finished off with a signature STORY playful graphic in the embroidered, chunky peace sign on the lateral side of each shoe.
The Beatnik itself is meant to resemble a puffy shoe that mimics one you might wear during a camping trip. The padded walking sandal features a pared down upper strap to remove excess plastic and a back strap that was made entirely removable to allow the shoe to be transformed into a mule. Both shoes are entirely vegan.
The Reebok x STORY mfg. collection will be available in unisex sizing starting at $120 beginning February 4th on storymfg.com with the global release following February 6th at 10am PST/1pm EST.
